January 16-20, 2017

In Reading, our next story will be the nonfictional selection “Then and Now.”  We will be studying the literary element, draw conclusions.  In Phonics, we’ll be focusing on the letter Oo and its sound in the medial position.          

In Math, we’ll finally finish Topic 4: Comparing and Ordering Numbers 0-10 and start Topic 5, Numbers to 20.  We’ll practice counting, reading and writing the numbers 0-20.  Please practice counting to 100 and writing the numbers 0-20 at home.  Keep up the great work!    

January book orders due Tuesday, January 17th.    

Upcoming Dates:
     • Friday, January 20th- Dress Down Day (Jeans or sweats with dress code approved shirt- $1 donation)
     • Wednesday, February 1st- Tentative 100th day of school (more information will be sent home in the near future.)
     • Thursday, February 2nd- Groundhog Day
     • Friday, February 3rd-  Luau for January’s Positive Behavior Reward-  Any student who did not have 3 or more days in yellow, orange, or red will be invited to participate in a luau.  Students who earn the reward are invited to wear a tropical shirt or dress to school for the luau.
