January 30- February 3, 2017

In Reading, we will continue with Unit 4, Let’s Go Exploring!  Our next story will be the animal fantasy “My Lucky Day.”  When a delicious-looking piglet knocks on Mr. Fox's door "accidentally," the fox can hardly believe his good luck. It's not every day that dinner just shows up on your doorstep. It must be his lucky day! Or is it?  We will be studying the literary element, cause and effect.  In Phonics, we’ll be focusing on the letter Ll and its sound in the initial and final position.  We will focus on three sight words; are, do, that.

In Math, we’ll begin Topic 6, Numbers to 100.  We’ll review counting to 100.  We’ll also learn about number patterns.  Our new vocabulary will be hundred chart, column, row, count by 2’s, and count by 10’s.  Please practice counting to 100 and writing the numbers 0-20 at home.  Keep up the great work!

Just a friendly reminder that even though I do not assign written homework, students are expected to review sight words, DIBELS practice, and read their leveled reader every night as homework.
