In Reading, we’ll move on to our next story, Plaidypus Lost. In this story, we will tag along with a lively young girl and her constant companion, Plaidypus, as they find adventures wherever they go! We will focus on the literary element sequence and the letters Oo-Ss.
In Math we’ll continue to learn about shapes (circles, triangles, rectangles, and squares.) Our essential question will be “How can shapes be named and described?”
Our theme this week will be Fall!
If you haven’t already, please start reviewing List 1 of Sight Words as homework every night. The flashcards can be taken out of your child’s folder and kept at home, but the green sheet w/ the lists must stay in the folder.
The Kindergarten Fall Festival will be held on Thursday, October 6th. We are asking that each child please donate $3.00 for the Fall Festival. The money is needed to buy supplies to make the day extra special for our Kindergarten students. If you plan on volunteering at the festival, please complete the volunteer form that was sent home and return it if you haven’t done so already. The next Fall Festival meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:30 at the Mineshaft in Ashland.
Keep practicing the 4 or 5 digit ID numbers with your child. Thank you to the parents who have already taught the number to their children :)
Please check your child’s folder daily and remove all “KEEP” items. It becomes difficult to handle the folders with too many papers inside (for the students and teachers.)
