In Math we’ll start Topic 1, Numbers One to Five. Our essential question is “How can the numbers one through five be counted, read, and written?”
In Reading, we’ll start our next Reading story, “Dig, Dig, Digging.” Our essential question will be “How do machines help people work?” We will discuss the literary element, classify and categorize. We will continue to practice Sight Words. Be sure to watch your child’s folder to see if they are moving on to the next word list or if they need to continue with their current list! Sight Words will be tested again on Friday, November 6th.
A big thank you to our families and friends who came to the Fall Parade! Our class was so excited to see so many people who we knew! We would also like to thank all of the parent volunteers who made the Fall Festival such a special day!
Since Daylight Savings Time has ended, students are NO LONGER ALLOWED TO WEAR SHORTS TO SCHOOL!!!
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 9th from 12:00-6:00. There will be no school for students that day due to conferences.
The North Schuylkill Jr. Sr. Student Council is sponsoring the Feed A Friend project to help less fortunate families in Schuylkill County have an enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. In an effort to help those that are in need, I’m asking that each student bring in one non-perishable item to donate to the Feed A Friend project. Donations are due Monday, November 16th.
Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, November 6th.
If you weren’t happy with your child’s school photo, retakes will be done on Nov. 18th.
Friday, November 13th will be the Kindergarten Field Trip! This year, we will be going to the Pearl Movie Theater in Frackville to see “The Peanuts Movie.” Please return your child’s permission slip if you haven’t done so already!
In order to help pay for parties and events held throughout the year, every student is asked to bring in $5. Please put the money in an envelope and make sure it is labeled with your child’s name, my name, and Party Money.
The 2nd Annual NS Coat, Hat, Scarf, and Glove Drive and Give-A-Way will kick off November 2nd! Please, clean out your closets and your neighbor’s closets and Donate, Donate, Donate!!! Let’s all do our part and make everyone a lot warmer! Collection will be from Nov. 2nd-Dec. 4th. Give-A-Way will be in the NSE cafeteria, Dec. 10th (4pm- 7pm) and Saturday, Dec 12th (10am-2pm.)
