In Math we’ll move onto Topic 16, Position and Location of Shapes.
In Reading, we’ll begin our next Reading story, “Plaidypus Lost.” Our essential question will be “How do families cooperate?” We will discuss the literary element, sequence. We will continue to practice Sight Words. Be sure to watch your child’s folder to see if they are moving on to the next word list or if they need to continue with their current list! Sight Words will be tested again on Friday, October 16th.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at NSE Monday, October 19th- 23rd. Families are invited to come shop with their child on Monday (10/19) from 4-7 pm. Our class will shop in school on Tuesday, October 20th. If you are sending money to school for the book fair please make sure it is in an envelope with your child’s name, my name, and “Book Fair” on it.
Some students still do not know their 4 digit numbers! These numbers are used for lunch, library, computer class, etc. It is very important that your child learn their number! Every child’s number is on the front of the folder. Please practice at home!
Now that the weather is getting cooler, please make sure that your child is dressing appropriate for outside recess!
Students will participate in a “Shake Out Drill” on Thursday, October 15th. Students will practice how to do “Drop, Cover, and Hold.”
