Next week in Phonics, we’ll move on to the letter Ff as in fish, February, and fun! Show and Tell for the letter Ff will be due on Friday, March 6th. Continue to practice all of the letters that we’ve learned (L, O, G, H, T, P, A, N, M, I, S.)
In Math, we’ll continue to focus on the numbers 0-20. We’ll practice counting by 10s and using dimes to pay for items.
Next week in Reading we’ll finish reading Plaidypus Lost. We’ll discuss how families cooperate. Our literary element for the story will be sequence.
This week, we started celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss! We had lots of guest readers come to our classroom and read some of Dr. Seuss’ classic books to us! We had students from Bloomsburg University visit our classroom to teach a lesson using the Dr. Seuss book, “ABC.” In the afternoon Mrs. Kraft, a retired NSE teacher, visited our classroom to read to us and do some fun activities. On Monday, we’ll celebrate Dr. Seuss’ actual birthday with some special activities and treats including green eggs and ham!!!! It’s been a “Seuss”tastic week and Monday is sure to be the same!
Congratulations to all of the students who earned the February Positive Behavior Plan reward. In March and April, the behavior plan changes to TWO yellow and/or red lights. Please continue to remind your child of this at home and encourage good behavior.
Completed teeth brushing charts should be returned next week for a special treat!
Kindergarten Graduation pictures will be taken in April. Every student needs to wear a white collared shirt for pictures! Everyone will be getting their picture taken as part of a class photo. Even if you aren’t buying a package, your child still needs to wear a white collared shirt on picture day! Package information will be sent home at a later date with the students who are buying pictures.

It’s time to start preparing for NSE’s 2nd annual Chinese Auction! The auction will be held at NSE this year!! Our class’ theme is a Sundae Basket!!! Please see your child’s folder for more information!
