In Math, we’ll continue to focus on the numbers 0-20. We’ll practice counting by 10s and using dimes to pay for items. We’ll also use pattern blocks to fill in design.
This week in Reading, we finally got to start reading Plaidypus Lost. We’ll finish this story next week and discuss how families cooperate. Our literary element for the story will be sequence. We will also be reading a variety of Dr. Seuss classics in honor of Dr. Seuss’ upcoming birthday. On Friday, February 27th, we’ll celebrate “Read Across America.” Students from Bloomsburg University will visit our class to read Dr. Seuss’ ABC book and do some fun activities. Mrs. Kraft, a retired North Schuylkill teacher will also visit us to read and have some seusstastic fun! We will also have several other guest readers throughout the week!
Please continue to remind your child that in February any student who has 3 or more red and/ or yellow stoplights will not participate in the monthly reward.
February is Dental Health Month! Please help your child complete their teeth brushing chart during the month of the February. Students who return the chart will get a special treat!
On Wednesday, February 25th, students will attend the Brainshow Mania assembly!
It’s time to start preparing for NSE’s 2nd annual Chinese Auction! The auction will be held at NSE this year!! On Saturday April 11th you may “Shop and Drop” from 10:30 to 5:00 and on Sunday April 12th you can do the same from 12:00-3:00. The auction will start promptly at 3:00. Every student will receive a free sheet of tickets if they attend the auction. Donations of prizes are greatly appreciated!!
