Next week in Phonics, we’ll finish the letter Ii and then start our new letter! The next letter that we’ll be learning is Ss as in snake, sun, and smile. Environmental Print for the letter Ii will be collected on Tuesday, February 17th. Show and Tell bags for the letter Ss will be sent home next week and will be due on Friday. Please continue to practice all of the letters that we’ve learned (L, O, G, H, T, P, A, N, M, I.)
In Math, we’ll be focusing on the numbers 0-20. We’ll also learn about the importance of measuring and following the directions in a recipe!
This week in Reading, we finished reading We Are So Proud. Due to the snow day and delay we didn’t get to start a new story. On Tuesday, we’ll begin reading Plaidypus Lost. We’ll discuss how families cooperate. Our literary element for the story will be sequence.
Please continue to remind your child that in February any student who has 3 or more red and/ or yellow stoplights will not participate in the monthly reward.
Students participated in “Jump Rope for Hearts” on Wednesday. It was a fun filled time for a great cause! Special thanks to Mr. Hinkel and Ms. Brill for organizing the event!
Our Valentine’s Day party was held this afternoon and students had a fun time! They exchanged valentines, made a craft, and had a snack!
There is no school for students on Friday, February 13th
and Monday, February 16th.
February is Dental Health Month! Please help your child complete their teeth brushing chart during the month of the February. Students who return the chart will get a special treat!
It’s time to start preparing for NSE’s 2nd annual Chinese Auction! The auction will be held at NSE this year!! On Saturday April 11th you may “Shop and Drop” from 10:30 to 5:00 and on Sunday April 12th you can do the same from 12:00-3:00. The auction will start promptly at 3:00. Every student will receive a free sheet of tickets if they attend the auction. Donations of prizes are greatly appreciated!!
