Next week in Phonics, we’ll learn about the letter Pp as in pajamas, pumpkin, and pancakes! Show and Tell bags will come home today and are due Friday. Please review identifying the letters L, O, G, H, T, P and their sounds at home.
In Math, we began begin telling time to the hour. We will continue to practice ordinal positions and numbers 0-10.
In Reading, we’ll begin Chapter 3, All Around our Community. The first story we’ll read is, The Two Promise Walk. We’ll discuss what is in our community. We will continue to practice answering questions about text, along with sequence.
Today was our pajama party! Thank you to all the parents who allowed their children to wear pajamas to school! We did lots of fun activities! We ate pancakes, made cereal necklaces, and read some special books! It was a great day!
There will not be school for students on Monday, November 10th.
Our theme next week will be leaves! We’ll do lots of fun activities with leaves and we may even get to go on a walk and explore all the different colors of Fall leaves!
Scholastic books orders were sent home this week. Please return them by Tuesday, November 11th. If you would like to purchase books as a Christmas gift, please write me a note and we can arrange for you to pick them up in the office.
The North Schuylkill Jr. Sr. Student Council is sponsoring the Feed A Friend project to help less fortunate families in Schuylkill County have an enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. In an effort to help those that are in need, I’m asking that each student bring in one non-perishable item to donate to the Feed A Friend project. Donations are due Monday, November 17th.
Please be sure to send in $5 for your child’s Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties if you haven’t done so already.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 10th. Please note that students should NOT attend these conferences. If something happens and you can’t make your scheduled time, please call me at 570-874-3661 extension 3235.
Please note…. This year the K-3 Christmas Concert will be held at NIGHT, not during the school day. The concert will take place on December 4th at 7 PM in the North Schuylkill High School Auditorium.
Don’t forget your sneakers on Tuesday and Library books on Wednesday!
