In Math, we’ll be focusing on shapes, especially squares and triangles! We will also discuss patterns, sorting, and numbers 1-10.
In Reading, we will continue with Unit 2, Meet My Family. We will read our next story, Kevin and His Dad. Our Big Question for the week will be “How does everyone in a family help?” We’ll practice answering questions about a story and determining the meaning of unknown words. We will also classify and categorize.

Notes are coming home today asking that each student bring in $5 to cover the cost of the Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties. Please note that this money is separate from the money that was collected for the Fall Festival.
Our Halloween Party and Parade will be held on Friday, October 31st. Students are invited to bring their costume to school in a bag marked with their name. They will change into their costume before the parade with the help of teachers. Please keep in mind that we have many students to get dressed in a short amount of time so please keep the costumes simple (no spraying hair, full face makeup, etc.) Family and Friends are invited to come see our Halloween Parade on Friday. The parade will take place in the bus loop in front of the school beginning at 2:00. The parade usually draws a large crowd so plan to be here early to get a good spot!
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 10th. More information is in your child’s folder today.
If you were not happy with your child’s school pictures or if your child was absent, retakes will be done on October 23rd.
Don’t forget to return your child’s Library book on Wednesday so they can get a new book!
Please note…. This year the K-3 Christmas Concert will be held at NIGHT, not during the school day. The concert will take place on December 4th at 7 PM in the North Schuylkill High School Auditorium.
