December 16-20, 2013

Next week in Phonics, we’ll begin learning the letter Pp, as in popcorn, pig and penguin! Please continue to practice the letter flashcards at home with your child. 

In Math, we will review numbers 0-10, shapes and patterns. 

In Reading, we’ll be reading a variety of classic Christmas stories. 

There will be NO HOMEWORK this week! Enjoy!

Kindergarten students are collecting supplies to be mailed to soldiers in Afghanistan. Please send in all your donations by December 20th. If you need a list of items that are needed please let me know.

On Friday, December 20th, we will be celebrating the story the “The Polar Express.” Kindergarten students are invited to dress like the characters of the story by wearing their pajamas to school. We will have hot chocolate, cookies, read the book “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg and watch the movie. December 21st is an early dismissal for students (1:00.) 

On Tuesday, December 17th, we’ll travel to the High School to see the High School Band and Chorus Christmas Concert!

Don’t forget to return your child’s Library book on Wednesday (12/ 4) so they can get a new book!
