October 28-November 1

Next week, we’ll continue to practice the letter Gg, as in goat, gorilla, and golf. Please continue to review your child’s letter flash cards at home.

In Math, we’ll practice ordering numbers from 1-10. We’ll also review ordinal positions.

In Reading, we will begin Unit 2. Our 1st story will be “Life in the Ocean.” This book explores the ocean habitat and will teach us all about the animals and plants that live there. We will discuss ocean environments.

Our theme for next week will be Halloween! We’ll do lots of fun activities involving the upcoming holiday. Our Halloween Party and Parade will be held on Thursday, October 31st. Students are invited to bring their costume to school in a bag marked with their name. Please keep in mind that we have many students to get dressed so try to keep the costumes simple (no spraying hair, full face makeup, etc.) Family and Friends are invited to come see our Halloween Parade on Thursday. The parade will take place in the bus loop in front of the school.

Party Money ($5) should be sent in as soon as possible! This is separate from the Fall Festival money that was already collected. I’ve only received party money from a handful of students. Please send the money in so we can buy supplies for the Halloween party.

Information was sent home about parent teacher conferences. Instead of giving a report card, we will be holding conferences on November 18th to discuss your child’s progress in Transitional Kindergarten. Please return the conference form as soon as possible.

The School Store opened on October 21st. Kindergarteners may only shop on Mondays. Students do NOT come to the classroom before shopping so it’s important that you explain to your child that they need to stop before coming to our room.

Don’t forget to return your child’s Library book on Thursday so they can get a new book!

If you were not happy with your child’s school pictures or if your child was absent, retakes will be done on November 1st.
