In Math, we’ll continue to practice counting from 1-5. We didn’t get to ordinal positions last week so that will be our new topic this week.
In Reading, continue to read the story, “Julius.” This book is about a little girl named Maya's whose Granddaddy brings home a huge, pink, Alaskan pig named Julius! Whether Julius is sporting white underwear with hearts, joyfully swinging Maya around to a jazz tune, or unhappily submitting to a bath, his love for his friend shines as brightly as his glossy pink skin.
Reminder: There is no school for students on October 14th and 18th.
This week, our theme was Fire Safety! We started the week by discussing “What’s Hot and What’s Not.” Students learned that they should never touch things that are hot! We also talked about several important rules to keep up safe. Students learned about firefighters and how they keep up safe! We’ll finish our fire safety activities next week.
The Fall Festival will be held on Thursday, October 17th. There will be a meeting for any parents, or grandparents that would like to help on Sunday, October 13th at 5:00 at the Mineshaft. Students are invited to wear their gym clothes on Thursday for the Fall Festival.
The Kindergarten Pajama party will be held on Wednesday, October 16th. Kindergarten students are invited to wear their pajamas to school.

If you were not happy with your child’s school pictures or if your child was absent, retakes will be done on November 1st.
Some students still do not know their 4 digit numbers! These numbers are used for lunch, library, computer class, etc. It is very important that your child learn their number! Every child’s number is on the front of the folder. Please practice at home!
The School Store will open on October 21st. Kindergarteners may only shop on Mondays. Students do NOT come to the classroom before shopping so it’s important that you explain to your child where their money is and that they need to stop before coming to our room.
Don’t forget to return your child’s Library book on Wednesday so they can get a new book!
