Next week in Reading, we’ll read Mayday, Mayday!: A Coast Guard Rescue! In this book the United States Coast Guard leaps into action when they hear a call for help. A team of four highly trained rescue specialists head out in an H-60 Jayhawk helicopter. Battling fierce conditions, the Coast Guard team finally locates the disabled boat, rescues the crew, treats injured passengers, and carries them back to safety. We will be discussing emergency transportation. Students will learn about cause and effect. Please be sure to review your Family Times when it comes home next week.
In Math students will continue to practice using money (pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters.) They’ll also practice matching equivalent sets and identifying doubles. Please practice identification of pennies, nickels, and dimes, along with their values, at home. A lot of students are struggling with this concept.
On Wednesday, we celebrated “Watery Wednesday” with lots of water experiments. We tried mixing things with water and testing what floats and sinks. Students looked very wacky today with their wacky hairstyles!
Kindergarten Graduation pictures will be taken Thursday, April 4th. All students must wear a white collared shirt and girls need to wear their hair down. Every student will have their picture taken even if you are not purchasing a package. Package information was sent home last week. Please try to return orders and money before Easter break.
Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, March 27th.
Students will be having an egg hunt one day next week (depending on the weather.) Don’t forget there is no school for students Friday, March 29th, - Tuesday, April 2nd due to the Easter holiday.
We are trying to get students outside for recess as much as possible! Please be sure that your child has a warm jacket, gloves, and hat!
