In Reading, we’ll continue with Unit 2, Look at Us! Our next story will be another nonfiction selection, Animals Babies in Grasslands. This book shows mommy mammals living in this lush and green habitat with their babies. We will focus on the letter Pp in the initial and final position of words. Our literary skill for the week will be main idea.
In Math, we’ll continue with Topic 1: One- Five. Students will learn how to read, write, and count numbers one to five. Please practice writing numbers 1-5 at home.
On Monday, we’ll finish our Halloween theme and discuss safe trick or treating! Throughout the rest of the week we’ll be finishing learning about pumpkins.
Halloween Parade
Thank you to everyone who came to the Halloween parade today! Check out my blog for pictures if you weren’t able to attend!
Field Trip
The Kindergarten Field trip to see the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble present Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and then some) will be on Friday, December 1st. Students are asked to wear a polo and dress code approved bottoms or better! This mean that students may wear Christmas dresses, suits, etc (even if they aren’t dress code appropriate.) Please remember that we are going to the theatre and we will be representing North Schuylkill. Students should not wear gym clothes on the field trip.
Weather/ Coats
The weather is quickly changing and the days are getting colder! Please make sure that your child is coming to school dressed for the weather. Please reinforce at home that it is no longer warm outside and that coats are a must! I’ve had several students insisting that they don’t need to wear coats this week! As the weather gets even colder, feel free to send in a spare hat and gloves for your child to leave in their locker in case they forget theirs at home.
