In Reading, we’ll begin Unit 2, Look at Us! The first story will be the nonfiction selection Flowers. We will focus on the letter Aa in the initial and medial position of words. Our literary skill for the week will be compare and contrast.
In Math, we’ll continue with Topic 16: Analyze, Compare and Compose Shapes. We will learn positional words to describe the location of shapes. Our big question will be how can shapes be named, described, compared and composed.
Next week our theme will be pumpkins! We’ll do lots of activities with pumpkins including a pumpkin investigation and maybe we’ll even carve a jack-o-lantern!

If your child was absent or you were not happy with their school pictures, retakes will be done on October 25th.

Halloween Parade
On Friday, October 28th, family and friends are invited to attend the school-wide Halloween Parade. The parade will be held at Spartan Stadium! The parade will begin promptly at 2:00 with Kindergarten leading! Students will parade in front of the HOME side bleachers. Students should not wear their costumes to school on Friday. Please send your child’s costume to school in a plastic bag. We ask that the costumes aren't too scary and please keep anything that can be considered a weapon at home. Try to keep costumes simple! We have a lot of kids to get dressed in a short period of time.
