April 13-17

Next week, we’ll continue to learn the last few letters of the alphabet! Our new letters will be Dd and Vv. We will do Show and Tell for the letter Dd on Friday! Students should also try to find a piece of environmental print for the letters Dd and Vv. Please continue to practice all of the letters that we’ve learned (L, O, G, H, T, P, A, N, M, I, S, F, R, K, B, U. Z, C, E, Y, D, V)

In Math, we will continue to work on Topic 15. We’ll discuss the position and location of shapes. Our big question is, what words can be used to describe the position and location of an object?

Next week in Reading we’ll continue with Unit 2, Look at Us! We will read Animal Babies in Grasslands. Our question of the week will be what special animals live in the grasslands. The story element for the week will be main idea.

Due to PSSA testing the following dates will be non-rotation days. This means that there will be no specials on these days: April 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28 and 29.

In April, the positive behavior plan allows students to get TWO yellow and/or red lights. Please continue to remind your child of this at home and encourage good behavior.

On Tuesday, April 7th, we had a very special guest reader! Leanne Long, a player on the Lady Spartan Basketball Team read Michael Recycle! She even brought her Schuylkill League Gold Medal to show us! Leanne taught us about all the hard work that it takes to be a student athlete. Everyone enjoyed Leanne’s visit!

Thank you to all of the parents who donated to our Sundae Basket!! It looks really YUMMY! The auction will be held April 11th 10am-5pm & 12th 12-3pm at North Schuylkill Elementary. Please attend and support our PTO!
