March 20- April 3

We are continuing to move right through the alphabet! Next week we are going to learn 2 more letters!! Our new letters will be Z and C. Show and Tell can be tricky for Z so we will only have Show and Tell for the letter C on Friday! Students should also try to find a piece of environmental print for the letter Z and C, but please don’t stress if you can’t find anything for Z!! Please continue to practice all of the letters that we’ve learned (L, O, G, H, T, P, A, N, M, I, S, F, R, K, B, U.)

In Math, we will move on to our next topic. We’ll discuss position and location of shapes. Our big question will be, what words can be used to describe the position and location of an object?

Next week in Reading we’ll continue with Unit 2, Look at Us! Our next story will be Nature Spy. We will discuss what we can learn about nature when we look closely.

Students will be completing lots of Easter activities next week. On Thursday, Kindergarten will have an Egg hunt!! Don’t forget, there is NO school for students on Friday, April 3.

In March and April, the positive behavior plan changes to TWO yellow and/or red lights. Please continue to remind your child of this at home and encourage good behavior.

On Tuesday, April 7th, we will have a very special guest reader! Leann Long, a player on the Lady Spartan Basketball Team will be reading to our class. If we’re very lucky, she might even bring her Schuylkill League Gold Medal to show us! In an effort to show Leann that we are Spartan Proud, I am asking that every student wear a Spartan T-Shirt or red and blue! Even though we don’t have gym on Tuesday, students may still wear a Spartan T-Shirt. Please note, this is something our class is doing. It is not school wide.

Kindergarten Graduation pictures will be taken on April 8th. Every student needs to wear a white collared shirt for pictures! Every child will be getting their picture taken as part of a class photo. For anyone who is buying pictures, when picking out a background, please note that, boys will wear a blue gown with a red cap, and girls wear a red gown with a blue hat.

It’s time to start preparing for NSE’s 2nd annual Chinese Auction! The auction will be held at NSE this year!! Our class’ theme is a Sundae Basket!!! Each student is asked to make a donation to the basket but it is not mandatory. We can put anything in the basket that makes you think of an Ice Cream Sundae! Sprinkles, nuts, chocolate, cherries, bowls, spoons, ice cream scoops, cones, butterscotch, caramel, etc. Feel free to get creative! Thank you to the 6 parents who already sent in donations!!! Thursday, April 2 will be the absolute last day to send in donations!!!!
