There will be no homework next week! Please continue to read nightly with your child and complete their December reading log. Remember, the goal is to read 16 times during the month! Every child that meets the goal each month, gets their name entered to win a bike at the end of the year!
As I’m sure you’ve heard, this week our class participated in a “Secret Santa” project. On Monday, students picked the name of a classmate. On Tuesday, each student got a hand full of pennies to spend at Miss Smith’s Toy Store! Each item in the store had a price tag and students could only buy the gift if they knew how many pennies they needed to pay me! On Wednesday, each student got to wrap the present that they bought for their classmate. Today we finally exchanged gifts!!! We had a great time with this project! My goal was to teach the class about the joy of giving and I think it was a great success!
Next week we will complete our Christmas theme! Students are very excited to bring home all the crafts and projects that they’ve working on! They put a lot of time and hard work into these projects! We hope you enjoy them!
The 1st Annual NSE Coat, Hat, Scarf, and Glove drive was a huge success! 473 items were collected and then distributed!
