This
week in Phonics, we will begin a new letter!
Our new letter will be Zz as in zip, zebra, and zoo! Please continue to review the letter
flashcards in your child’s folder. There
will be no Show and Tell for the letter Zz.
In Math,
we’ll compare numbers and practice counting on from a given number. We will also solve word problems by drawing
pictures.
Next
week in Reading, we’ll read “On the Move.”
This story is an informational text.
We will discuss travel around the world.
Students will learn about main idea.
On Monday, April 21st, we
participated in Kick Butts Day. High
school students who are members of Teens Against Tobacco came over and taught
students to say no to tobacco.
On Wednesday, April 23rd,
Kindergarten attended Brainshow Mania in the Gym. This was a fun and educational program
brought to us by our PTO! Thank you PTO!
On Friday, April 25th,
students from the high school’s Diversity Club visited our classroom to teach a
lesson on diversity.
Tuesday April 29th, lunch will be breaded pork chop with
mashed potatoes and gravy.
May 2nd, will be the last
day for the School Store.
This week will be the last time that
students can check a book out of the library.
Our field trip will be held on May 28th
(rain date May 29th) and we’ll be visiting the Pioneer Tunnel in
Ashland!
