Kindergarten News: March 4-8

In Phonics we will be learning about the consonant “Jj” as in jar, jam, and jungle. Instead of show and tell each student will share a joke on Friday! Please see the paper in your child’s folder today. Word List 13 will be tested Friday, March 8th.

Next week in Reading we’ll read “If You Could Go to Antarctica.” This is a nonfiction book that will teach students all about life in Antarctica. We will be discussing adventures. Students will learn about classifying and categorizing. Please be sure to review your Family Times when it comes home next week.

In Math we’ll be comparing numbers. Students will learn how to play the card game “War.” We’ll also learn a new pattern, ABBC.

This week we celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss! We read LOTS of Dr. Seuss books, and completed lots of activities. A special thank you to the Bloomsburg University Students, retired NSE teacher Mrs. Kraft, and our favorite Lady Spartan basketball coach Ms. Hughes!

Please return your child’s toothbrush chart next week if you haven’t already done so.

We are trying to get students outside for recess as much as possible! Please be sure that your child has a warm jacket, gloves, and hat!

Next week is Newspaper in Education week. Please see the information in your child’s folder today.
