Kindergarten News: January 21-25

Next week in Phonics we will be learning about the consonant “Zz” as in zipper, zap, and zebra. Word List 9 came home today and will be tested Friday, January 25th. There will be NO Show and Tell for the letter Zz!

In Reading, we’ll read “Seeds.” This informational text will explain how everything from the flourishing flowers in summer to autumn's succulent fruits all begin with a tiny little seed. We will be discussing how plants grow and change. Students will learn about drawing conclusions. Please be sure to review your Family Times when it comes home next week.

In Math we’ll practice number identification (0-20.) Students will have a chance to use a 1 cup measuring cup as they follow a recipe. They will also identify full, half- full, and empty containers, along with quart containers.

There IS school on Monday, January 21st.

On Monday, January 21st, we’ll have our monthly Guidance lesson with Mrs. Hull.

Report Cards will be sent home on Wednesday, January 23rd.

The 100th day of Kindergarten is quickly approaching! Watch your child’s folder for special “100th day” homework! The 100th day is January 31st (but that could change if we have a snow day!)

We have been trying to take Kindergarten students outside for recess whenever we can. Please make sure that your child is dressed properly.
