In Phonics we will be learning the consonant “Rr” as in rabbit, rat, and reindeer! We will be making Reindeer with our Reading buddies! Word List 6 is coming home today and will be tested on Friday, December 14th. There will not be another Word List tested before Christmas.
Next week in Reading we will begin Unit 3, Watch Me Change and read the story Little Panda. Little Panda records an adorable panda's first year of life, as she grows from a four-ounce newborn to a curious, playful cub. We will discuss comparing and contrasting. Students will also get a chance to watch a “Panda Cam” at the National Zoo in Washington DC.
In Math we’ll practice shapes, patterns, and numbers up to 10. Students will also be introduced to the cube.
Today we mailed our Santa Letters to the North Pole! A big thank you to Postman Hughes! We know he’ll make sure that our letters are delivered straight to Santa! We hope that Santa has time to read our letters and write back to us sometime next week! Maybe if the class is on their best behavior he will even come see us!
On Wednesday, December 12th there will be no special classes. Students will use the time to practice for the Christmas concert.
