     • Literary Element: Compare and Contrast
     • Sight Words: I, am, at, little, the, a, to (Please note, since students have been struggling with the sight word lists, we went back to the beginning and are starting all over again.  Please focus on these sight words when practicing at home!  Flash cards with this week’s new words will be sent home!)

This week is Newspaper in Education week.  Please read the paper with your child daily and log it on the Read at Home Challenge contract that was sent home last week.  Also, be sure to check the classified ads daily for my ad!

It’s time to start preparing for NSE’s 3rd annual Chinese Auction!  Our class’ basket theme will be “Household Products” (cleaning supplies, plates, napkins, paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, Ziploc bags, paper cups, plastic utensils, garbage bags etc.)  More information will be sent home about the class’ basket.   The auction will be held at NSE on Saturday April 16th and Sunday April 17th.  You may “Shop and Drop” from 10:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and 12:00-3:00 on Sunday.  The auction will start promptly at 3:00 on Sunday. Every student will receive a free sheet of tickets if they attend the auction. Donations of prizes are greatly appreciated!!
