Kindergarten News: November 5-8

Next week, in Phonics, we’ll continue to learn about the letter Mm as in monkey, money, and movie! Word List #2 was sent home last week but won’t be tested until the end of next week. Please continue to practice the Word Lists at home. Show and tell will be Thursday due to the short week!

In Reading, we’ll continue reading “Animal Babies in Grasslands.” We’ll focus on main ideas and practice our 3 new sight words: we, my, like.

In Math we will continue to work with shapes, the numbers 0-10, and pennies. We will also start telling time to the hour.

Due to school being closed for 2 days, report cards will not be sent home until Tuesday, November 6th. Report cards should be signed and return as soon as possible.

A big thank you to the parents who came in to help at the Halloween Party and Parade! Our class would also like to thank all the parents that sent in Halloween treats. Finally I want to thank all the family and friends who came to watch the Halloween Parade. The class was so excited to see so many people who they knew!

Picture retakes will be taken on November 5th. If you need re-take information please let me know.

PTO is selling pink bracelets at the school store for $2. The proceeds of this sale will benefit one of our NSE teachers who is battling breast cancer. If you would like to purchase bracelets please send the money in an envelope with your child’s name, the amount, and “bracelets.” Your support of this cause is greatly appreciated!

The nurse’s office is in need of shirts, pants, socks, and sneakers. If you have any of these items and would like to donate them to the nurses office please send them to school in a bag marked “Nurse’s Office Donation.” Also, if your child borrowed clothes from the nurse, please be sure to wash and return them as soon as possible! If you would rather that your child wear their own clothes if they have an accident then please send in a spare set of clothes for them to keep in the locker.

If you haven’t sent in your child’s party money ($5) yet please do so as soon as possible. This money will pay for the Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties.

The North Schuylkill Jr. Sr. Student Council is sponsoring the Feed A Friend project to help less fortunate families in Schuylkill County have an enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. In an effort to help those that are in need, I’m asking that each student bring in one non-perishable item to donate to the Feed A Friend project.
