Kindergarten News: April 30- May 4

In Reading we will continue with Unit 6, Building our Homes.  We will read Old MacDonald Had a Workshop and will discuss characters. In Phonics we will be learning about the voiced and unvoiced digraph th as in tooth and throat.  A digraph is 2 letters that come together to make one new sound.  We code digraphs by underlining them.  In Math we will practice some, some went away problems.  We will also discuss symmetry and measuring.

Today was a special day at NSE.   The day began when students were surprised by a Flash Mob in the gym!  The mob was made up of high school students and elementary teachers and staff!  The students, teachers, and staff danced to the song “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction to kick off Diversity Day!  Students were reminded that even though we are all different we’re all beautiful!  The high school students also visited us during lunch and taught us more about diversity!

On Thursday, we had our guidance lesson with our guidance counselor Mrs. Hull.
