Kindergarten News: January 23-27

There will be a half day for students on Friday, January 27th.  Students will be dismissed at 11:45.

Next week in Reading we will begin Unit 4 Let’s Explore.  We will be reading the story Bunny Day. We discuss adventures.  Students will also review the consonant “H” and sequence.  In Phonics we will be learning about the consonant “Zz” as in zebra and zipper.  Word List 9 will come home today and will be tested Friday, January 27, 2011.  In Math, we will continue to learn about the numbers 0-20 and also practice various forms of measurement.  We will continue learning about wood next week in Science.

We have been trying to take Kindergarten students outside for recess whenever we can.  Please make sure that your child is dressed properly.

The 100th day of Kindergarten is approaching fast!  Kindergarteners will be celebrating the 100th day on Tuesday, January 31st (unless we have a snow day before then.)  Students are invited to dress like they are 100 years old and bring in a special collection of 100 items to help celebrate the special day.  More information will be sent home next week.

Report cards are coming home today.  Please sign and return them as soon as possible.
