**Our class had a TERRIFIC time today at the pep rally. We were so proud of the way they behaved. It’s great to see that they are proud to be Spartans!!!!
**There will be no school on Monday due to the Labor Day Holiday. Enjoy the long weekend! J
**Tuesday, September 6th will be Day 1 and we will have Computers.
**This week we began learning the letter Ll as in lion, lemonade, and lizard. Please review the letter and sound with your child at home. On Thursday, September 8thKindergarten will have a Luau! Students are asked to dress tropical: bright colors, floral prints, Hawaiian shirts, etc. Please remember this is only for Kindergarten students J
**We also started math this week and our students really enjoy it! Their favorite part of the lesson is learning the song that we sing to practice the correct way to write numbers. Ask your child to sing the song for you!
**In Reading, we read the book “The Little School Bus” and discussed characters. We also learned 6 amazing words: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth.
**Please discuss with your child if they brought a lunch or snack to school each day. A few students are still getting confused and want to eat their snack for lunch J
**Try to make sure your child has his/her bus tag every day. The end of the day is hectic and some children don’t know their bus numbers yet!
**Every Friday of the school year is a spirit day! This is completely optional! It is done to promote school spirit and enthusiasm for our sports teams. The children are allowed to wear any North Schuylkill t-shirt and uniform pants or uniform shorts (please see p. 5 of the student dress code.) The children may dress in regular uniform clothing if you wish.
**Please remember to pack a snack for your child daily. Students may bring something to eat and drink to have during snack. If your child forgets their snack we do keep some things on hand but we can’t supply snack for students who forget it every day.
**School pictures will be taken on Friday, September 9th. Please be sure to return your child’s envelope as soon as possible!
**We had a fabulous first week of Kindergarten and are thrilled to have your child in our class! We hope that he/she enjoyed their first week as much as we did and are looking forward to returning to school on Tuesday!!!!
